If you prefer to fill up traditional paper forms, kindly arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to fill out the forms.
We provide a variety of drinks for you to sip on before commencing your appointment with us. Pour yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee, sit back, relax, and enjoy the music. Your Chiropractor will invite you in shortly.
You will have the chance to explain your symptoms and ask any questions concerning your health. Your Chiropractor will also prompt you questions to understand your condition better.
Once it has been established that your case is a chiropractic case, your Gonstead chiropractor will perform a thorough physical examination.
In both your first and return visits, your Gonstead Chiropractor will always perform these comprehensive physical examinations prior to adjusting you. This is to ensure that you receive specific and adequate adjustments and that you are making progress in recovery. Your Chiropractor may ask you to wear a clinic gown so that these tests can be performed efficiently and the findings obtained will be more accurate.
Your chiropractor will be looking for subtle changes in your posture, balance, movement patterns, and musculoskeletal system.
This instrument detects uneven distributions of heat along the spine which can be indicative of an underlying problem.
Your Chiropractor will feel for swelling, tenderness, and tightness in the muscles and surrounding tissues of your back.
Movement will be compared between individual spinal segments to locate any loss of range-of-motion.
Special orthopaedic and neurological tests are performed to figure out the severity of your condition and to rule out any concerning pathology.
When clinically indicated, you may be referred for X-ray images to be taken in order to rule out or confirm conditions that may alter your chiropractic care.
When the physical examination process is completed, your Chiropractor will diagnose your condition and will explain its properties and treatment plan. The adjustment will then be carried out.
The Gonstead Chiropractic adjustment is a hands-on, gentle, and direct movement applied to the problematic part found along your spine. The aim of it is to restore movement to the joint and alleviate most of your symptoms.
The noise you may hear from the adjustment will sound like a "pop". Do not worry as it is not bone scraping on bone but the release of air escaping from the capsule in the joint.
After your adjustment, your Chiropractor may prescribe you with some home exercises, and lifestyle or ergonomics advice. Your Chiropractic treatment is now completed.
